Grade 9 School Infrastructure Fundraiser

The Grapesyard school is facing serious school infrastructure problems as they prepare to implement Grade 9 of Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in January 2025. The school, which currently runs from Kindergarten to Grade 8, requires necessary classroom furniture and educational materials to accommodate the incoming Grade 9 students.

This challenge is particularly imperative as there are only two months left until the new year and the CBC system, implemented in 2018, aims to produce more employable graduates by emphasizing practical skills and mastery. However, the Grapesyard Education Centre isn’t fully prepared to admit the Grade 9 students due to basic infrastructure needs, including student lockers, chairs, coursebooks, and curriculum designs. Teachers also require proper office desks, chairs, and guides to effectively deliver the curriculum.

To address this problem, the school is seeking to procure the following:

  • 109 school chairs and 22 student lockers.

  • 2 office desks and 2 office chairs.

  • 90 student coursebooks, 18 teachers’ guides, and 2 copies of the Grade 9 curriculum design.

The estimated budget for these essential materials is 582,000 Ksh (~$6,253 CAD).

This fundraiser aims to ensure that the Grapesyard school’s students can maintain an uninterrupted educational journey and benefit from quality education they rightfully deserve. Potential donors can note that all their donations, no matter the size, will directly enhance the educational development of the Grapesyard school’s community, making their support crucial and deeply valued. We would greatly appreciate your consideration and any support you can provide on this project.
